![]() ![]() Not that long ago you could only do that every 6 months, now it doesn’t matter how often you switch. The switching back and forth between marketplaces didn’t used to be that easy. If you wish, you can switch your locale back to Spain and there you go, your game is installed in English and still can use all the Spanish apps. This can be even a game you’ve purchased in the Spanish version of the Xbox online store. Sign-in the Marketplace under System settings and (re)download the game. There is an easy workaround for that as well. I had that happen a few times with games like Fable III, Fallout 3, Evil Within and Minecraft Xbox One edition. Sometimes it may occur that the game is still in Spanish, even when you’ve set the Xbox One system settings to English. If you switch your system settings to English, the disc usually automatically installs the English version on your Xbox One hard drive, even when you are in Spain and have a Spanish Internet service provider. As a matter of fact, an extra language pack is added once you install the game on your Xbox One hard drive provided you’re logged into the Spanish marketplace variant of the Microsoft store. I hate to burst the Spanish bubble, but they simply don’t make an Xbox game disc specifically tailored to Spain – that would get too expensive to make one for every country. It’s exactly the same disc you can purchase in the U.K. ![]() Actually, every disc already has its native language pack (English) on it. However, so far all the Xbox One games (physical and digital) I’ve bought in Spain can be played in English, regardless of the sticker or label ‘Totalmente en castellano’. I don’t even argue with these guys anymore, Spanish video game retailers are very stubborn I noticed □ They insist the game is only in Spanish! In fact, every time I buy a game here in Spain they let me know that the game is entirely in Spanish. The issue is that most physical game discs you can buy in a brick-and-mortar store in Spain or in the Microsoft Store have the label ‘Totalmente en Español’ or ‘Totalmente en Castellano’. I’m Dutch, but even when a game is able to switch to Dutch I still prefer English, as usually things get lost in translation.įor instance, my personal scenario is that I live in Spain, but I do prefer to play my games in English. I prefer to play my games in English – period. It can be frustrating to come home and see a game you really want to play in a language you either don’t understand or don’t want to play in. The big question when you buy any Xbox One / 360 game abroad: can you play it in English? If you live in an English speaking country this post probably doesn’t pertain to you, but for those live abroad and prefer to play the games in English, changing the game language setting can be a challenge.
